SoonerWire is an independent sports and news outlet based in Oklahoma. We cover the Oklahoma Sooners, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Oklahoma and national stories people here are talking about.
We lead with numbers. Every card, post, and newsletter starts with stats from official sources, then adds context in plain language. If we can't source a number, we don't run it.
What we cover
- OU football and basketball: game previews, halftime and final stat cards, and weekly breakdowns. Other OU sports when there's a story.
- OKC Thunder: pregame cards, live takes during games, final cards, and weekly numbers.
- Oklahoma and mainstream news: data-driven explainers on stories that matter to Oklahomans.
How often
- On X (@SoonerWire): daily posts, with game-day coverage for every OU football game and Thunder game.
- Newsletter (soonerwire.beehiiv.com): a weekly OU issue every Thursday ahead of the game, and a weekly Thunder issue every Monday. Free to subscribe.
